Concerned About Security At Your Business Location? Maybe It's ...

While you?re busy migrating essential parts of your business to the Cloud, why not migrate your surveillance? New services are popping up offering high-quality monitoring services through IP cameras connected to their Cloud servers.

There are two advantages to these kinds of services that would attract most businesses:

  • Off-site monitoring ? In the event of an intrusion, a skilled perpetrator would get rid of the evidence that he or she was in the building by finding the console that stores the footage of the intrusion. With Cloud-based monitoring, you don?t have this problem, because the evidence stays within the facility you subscribe to, making it impossible for the intruder to erase any evidence of his or her presence.
  • Alerts ? While you?re away, many services offer you a way to receive alerts when the motion detector within the camera triggers the video feed to turn on. This lets you know when something happens right away, letting you take action if you have to.

If you?re interested in employing a Cloud-based IP surveillance service, have a look at the following options:

  • ZyXEL ? A service that allows you to stick as many cameras as you?d like in your home or business. The surveillance service also gives you mobile alerts when a motion detector goes off, giving you access to the footage you want. The only footage archived will store what the motion detector picks up, so you don?t end up with several hours of boring tape. They also claim to have bank-level security. Their most comfortable package costs $5.99 per month. They offer two cameras, one priced at $99 and another priced at $185.
  • EyeCast - Another service, offering a similar package to what ZyXEL offers, with up to 30 days of video archives, starting at $7.95 a month and going up to $55 a month for premium services.
  • IvedaXpress -?This service doesn?t require you to pay for any cameras, but offers you different plans depending on how many cameras you want, days of archive storage, resolution, and frame rate. The most basic package gives you one day of archiving, at one frame per second, and at a 320?240 resolution for $12 a month per camera. Their most premium offer gives you 14 days of archiving, three frames per second, and 640?480 resolution at $55 a month per camera.

As much as you need to protect your data, protecting your business from intrusion matters just as much, if not more. One simple slip-up could cost you your entire business. Try to make sure that doesn?t happen.
