Ibotta Scans Your Receipts, Gets You Cash Back on Your Groceries

Ibotta Scans Your Receipts, Gets You Cash Back on Your GroceriesiOS/Android: Extreme couponing is more than just a way to save a few bucks. It's a lifestyle. Luckily, Ibotta makes the process a lot easier: just tell it what you're going to buy, scan your receipt when you're done, and it'll give you cash back.

The process is pretty simple:

  1. Browse the app for offers
  2. Qualify by taking a poll, reading some facts, or watching a video (this is a lot quicker and less annoying than it sounds).
  3. Head to the store and buy the items. When you're done, scan your receipt.
  4. Wait for your money to show up in your Ibotta account (usually takes just a few hours).
  5. Transfer your money out to PayPal (or donate to any U.S. school, if you're feeling charitable).

In my tests, the various tasks only took a few seconds to complete. Even with these "ads," Ibotta's a lot easier than searching out coupons for yourself at each separate store (or in the newspaper), so it's a nice change of pace when it comes to saving money You can also can combine Ibotta's offers with coupons from other sources for even more savings, which is nice.

The company has arrangements in place with several major retailers including the big ones like Target, Kroger, Walgreens, Fry's, and more. Hit the link to check it out, and for more ways to get automatic discounts, check out our guide to always getting the best price.
